I’ve collaborated with a lot of incredible music artists over my growing pile of years. But no partnership feels quite as special as writing and recording with my grown-up daughter, Vivi Rogers, who is an immensely gifted singer/songwriter in her own right, currently studying at Sir Paul McCartney’s performing arts school in Liverpool, England, and also working on her debut release, “Smile, You’re Seventeen.”

Vivi and I have, of course, done plenty of singing and writing together over the years, but this is our first official release together. You can listen to our first single, “The Oak and the Leafroller,” here. It includes a few extra seconds of silence at the end, because jeez, it feels like we could all use a few seconds of silence these days.

The track was recorded and mixed by Bryan Clavey at Chystall Recorders in Lombard, IL. It was mastered by Johnny Nevin at Heart and Soul. It features Vivi on vocals and piano, me on vocals and guitar / synthesizers, and our great friend Dave Rothkopf (from The Good) on bass guitar.
